James Richard Bartee, Jr. is the sensei and director of Aikido of Myrtle Beach, (www.aikidomyrtlebeach.com). Bartee Sensei is an Aikido 5th degree black belt. Aikido Myrtle Beach is a member of Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (www.asu.org), a federation of more than 125 dojos. Thousands of students train at ASU schools. Mitsugi Saotome is the Shihan (master instructor) for ASU. The ASU is affiliated with the “Aikido World Headquarters,” www.aikikai.or.jp in Tokyo, Japan. Bartee Sensei is an honorably retired U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Senior Special Agent. He had the honor to be personally assigned to the duties of protecting President George Bush and his family, President Bill Clinton and his family, presidential candidates, and other visiting head of states.
In addition, Bartee Sensei is a certified USSS Fitness Coordinator. He was highly trained by the USSS in Defensive Tactics and Defensive Measures. In addition to a 5th Degree black belt in Aikido, Bartee Sensei is a 3rd Degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and accomplished in Daito-ryu Aikijujujitsu, Hapkido, Bando Karate, and Wrestling.
Bartee Sensei routinely conducts his “Street Safe Seminar,” an eight hour self-defense class for the non-martial artist at colleges, universities, other educational institutions, public safety agencies, businesses, companies, organizations, groups, and individuals.
